Bond Organ Builders has designed, built and restored pipe organs from our Portland shop since 1976. We are renowned for our free-standing mechanical (tracker) action instruments — organs where the player's touch connects directly to the pipe, with nothing electronic in between.

Our Service Department is the largest of its kind in the Pacific Northwest, keeping churches, colleges and concert halls in tune long after the organ leaves our shop.

The Craft

Pipe By Pipe.

Every pipe in an organ is voiced individually — its mouth adjusted, its languid set, its speech tested against the pipes around it — until an instrument of hundreds or thousands of pipes speaks as one. There is no shortcut for that; it is done by ear, in the room the organ will live in.
